Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - More fallout for Target following that massive credit card security breach affecting about 40 million shoppers.
The retail giant is now facing lawsuits, including in Minnesota.
Three Target shoppers filed two separate lawsuits in federal court, claiming negligence by the company.
One states Target knew or should have known about the security vulnerabilities when dealing with sensitive personal information.
The other claims the company broke state law by not alerting customers quickly enough.
One legal expert says it could become a class action lawsuit.
Joe Tamburino- Legal Expert: "If you go at it by yourself, then it sometimes becomes unmanageable. Most of the time in these large suits, you're gonna want class action only because you're gonna have one person speaking for the group and yes, it is difficult to do, but at least you can control the situation."
Shoppers in California and Oregon have also filed suit. Target says it typically doesn't comment on pending litigation.
