Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Thinking about heading to Frisco for the football championship? You might want to start planning now.

Options are becoming limited and fast. Friday night, tickets to the finals were already sold out and three planes flying to Frisco are booked.

Dirk Monson- Heading to Frisco: "We all knew we were going to Frisco about five minutes before the half was over."

Since then, it's been nothing but a “Frisco Frenzy.”

Herd faithfuls like Dirk Monson scrambling to catch a ticket out of town….

Monson: "We lucked out. My wife and I were able to get tickets through the NCAA."

This is his second trip; this time trying to catch the three-peat.

Monson: "To be able to go back again and see these seniors and Coach Bohl out for their final round in Frisco is pretty awesome."

And Dirk knows the drill.

"We’ve got our tickets. We've got our hotel in Frisco booked. Right now, the plan is to leave the Thursday before the game and drive as far as Kansas."

A trip taking the team and its fans more than a thousand miles south.

Pat Simmers- Team Makers Director: "You know, it's just a historic time."

But not without a price.

Simmers: "We have people scrambling at the end and it gets hard at that time because we're limited to access with airplanes."

Friday night, three charter planes out of Fargo were booked. Team Makers like Pat Simmers are working on a fourth.

Simmers: "You don't realize one day closer to the January first bowl games changes our opportunity to secure airlines much more difficult."

Many people are turning to commercial flights out of Minneapolis, finding cheaper airfare at about $600 a pop, or there's always driving, which Dirk is depending on to play a part in NDSU history.

Monson: "Oh yeah, I'm not worried about eastern Washington or Towson."

You can register for a charter plane by heading to gobison.com or by calling Travel Inc on Monday.

As for tickets, the NCAA is sold out. NDSU is taking online requests only, but if you check out stub hub, over 900 tickets are still available.
