BARNESVILLE, Minn.– The Barnesville Fire Department is investigating a death involving a vehicle fire early Saturday morning.
The Fire Department responded to a call at 1:48 a.m. regarding a vehicle fire in the driveway of a Barnesville home.
When the fire was extinguished, firefighters found a human body within the vehicle.
Barnesville Police Chief Dean Ernst said that the fire appeared to be accidental.
The body was taken to the Ramsey County medical office for examination. Ernst said that although they have a fairly clear idea of who the victim is, they are still trying to get a positive identification.
Minnesota Fire Marshal Bruce West has opened an investigation on the case.
