Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Faced with an atypical 7 p.m. kickoff, fans contended with more traffic than usual to get to the FargoDome.
This 30 plus vehicle thundering herd of sorts...
...patiently waits to be let into the tailgate area an hour and a half early.
"What time did you get here?"
Larry Ostenson- Bison Tailgater: "Oh, about noon, I guess."
These are no fair weather fans.
Kenley Just- Bison Tailgater: "I figured there'd be more here by now."
From taking the same route to the dome to tailgate placement, this routine is serious business.
Just: "I've been here at this time every game. It's the same people in about the same spots. Not that we're superstitious; we're just traditionalists."
"Do you want to participate in our team meeting?"
"Yeah, let's do it!"
And those traditionalists, with centuries of combined tailgating experience, do have some odd traditions.
"This bus is going to Frisco if we win today?"
"When we win!"
The Fargo Beer Club brings "The Most Interesting Man in the World" with them wherever they go.
Bob Sutton- Bison Beer Club Member: "Because we're beer club it's got to look like he's drinking, and you can't drink out of a Dos Equis can or bottle. You've got to have it in a red Solo Cup. That's tailgating rules."
Hey, you can't change the rules.
But, with this weather, you can change the menu...
Ostenson: "It's mostly going to be crockpot stuff today."
"Stay warm, huh?"
