Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The West Fargo girls basketball team once again has high expectations.

The fifth ranked Packers return just two starters from last year’s state runner up team, but now say they have a deeper bench that will help them reload.

That doesn't include freshman sensation Akealy Moton, who's given them a huge boost and It's worked so far with four girls averaging in double figures.

Shelby Gustafson/West Fargo Sr. Center: “I think we have a lot of teamwork right now and good chemistry flowing and we're passing the ball well and playing defense.”

Barb Metcalf/West Fargo Head Coach: “They find a way to win. That's kind of indicative of these kids, they are competitors. I'm just impressed with the kids that we have for us and the kids that are coming off the bench too. We got a real shot in the arm in Devils Lake some kids came and they really contributed.”

Akealy Moton/West Fargo Fr. Forward: “Just we don't play as individuals, we play as a team. If you play as individuals it might just go all bad, if you play as individuals it might not go anywhere you only have one person carrying the team. But if you have more than one person you get so much farther.”
