Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Despite questions raised about security, following a school shooting in Colorado, school doors will be open to more than just students in March.

Polling locations will be back in schools for a special election.

It will be the first time votes are cast inside a Fargo school since 2006.

Cass County stopped using schools then because of questions about the safety of students.

The county decides the locations for primary and general elections, but since this is a special election, the decision is up to the Fargo District.

Dinah Goldenberg/President, Fargo School Board: “Obviously security is number one. Any of the schools that we use or plan to use for polling stations are all secured.”

Fargo will be voting on approval of a school mills levy on March 11th.

Polling will happen during school hours.
