Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - After weeks of smack talk and bragging rights hanging in the balance, we now know the winner of the Salvation Army's "Red Kettle Campaign."

The firefighters are the official winners of this year's Red Kettle Campaign.

They raised just over $32,000.

The realtors came in second with just over $28,000 raised and Law Enforcement came in third this year with just over $8,500 raised.

Together, the three groups raised a grand total of $69,328 in just three days of bell ringing.

Major Byron Medlock/Salvation Army: “Anytime you've got a chance to win, the winning nature in all of us will be shining forth, but overall they understand the ultimate goal is to help those in need in the community of Fargo and Moorhead.”

Firefighters came up just a few thousand dollars short of last year's record-setting campaign where they raised $34,500 in a single day.
