Central Cass, ND (WDAY TV) - Too much heat kept students home from Central Cass School Monday.

Classes were called off around 5-thirty this morning when a mechanical problem caused classroom temperatures to soar to more than 100 degrees

A part that tells the boiler whether or not to send heat through the school is being replaced.

The Central Cass Schools Superintendent says at no point were students in harm's way.

"The system; all it’s going to do is tell the boiler to keep heating the room and, again, there would come a point where it just wouldn't heat any higher, I guess… And we could just shut the boilers down, as well, so no, there was never a concern of student safety."

Workers have been able to bypass the system until the new part arrives so students should expect to be in class tomorrow.
