Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Chris Klieman said it time and time again today, that even though he was being introduced as the new head coach of NDSU.

His focus will remain on getting the defense ready for a semifinal showdown Friday against New Hampshire.

But, for us media guys its tough not to look ahead.

Klieman will have lofty expectations

Replacing Bohl, who has already piled up 100 plus wins and a pair of national championship trophies.

The Bison will lose a massive senior class that has played a big part in Bohl's successful run.

But, Klieman insists that there will be no stepping back next year.

Chris Klieman/New NDSU Head Coach: “You lose 24 seniors; it's not going to be easy. But, I see a couple of guys back there that are juniors and going to be seniors. I'd say to them, hey, we're going to go after it and try to win again next year too. It's not like, sorry guys we have to rebuild, no, we have to reload and make another run. To the Bison nation, I'm excited to be here. You have a guy that's passionate about football, passionate about the community and the university. I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure everything keeps running smoothly.”

Here's a look at the contract for Klieman, it's a 5-year deal with a base salary of 261,000, but with other guaranteed money it pushes him up to 326,000.

In comparison, Bohl's salary was 206,000, but according to athletic director Gene Taylor some of Bohl's incentives are now included in Klieman's salary.
