Sensory Santa visits Grand Forks children with autism

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Meeting and sitting on Santa's lap is a holiday tradition for many boys and girls. But busy malls and long lines can be uncomfortable for many children on the autism disorder spectrum.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Meeting and sitting on Santa's lap is a holiday tradition for many boys and girls. But busy malls and long lines can be uncomfortable for many children on the autism disorder spectrum.

Today, a special Santa visit was held in Grand Forks for such kids and their families.

Family's scheduled appointments and were provided with picture books describing how the kids would meet Santa.

When ready, the kids could interact with Santa.

Today's event was organized by the Anne Carlsen Center and the Occupational Therapy Program at the University of North Dakota.
