West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Teens at West Fargo High connected with more than 2,000,000 other students across the world today.

And since its computer science education week, the connection was, of course, online.

The Hour of Code is an online science movement teaching students how to write computer code.

They log on to a website and interact with tutorials, featuring big names like Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates.

Some of the largest technology companies in the world backed the movement, including Microsoft, who had representatives at West Fargo High today.

For students, it was a way to prepare for the 21st century job market.

Matthew Zent/Junior, West Fargo High: “it puts a little bit of excitement because you know if you're interested in computer science maybe in the future you actually want to work for some of those companies and I think it’s just kinda cool to get to work with them.”

Apple, Google and Amazon are just a few of the other companies supporting The Hour of Code.
