Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The Fargo City Commission has approved a flood control project for 2nd Street.

Thursday, we see what that project looks like.

This flyover rendering shows the new floodwall running along the east side of 2nd Street.

When the project is completed, 3rd Avenue will stops at 3rd Street and won't continue to 2nd Street.

2nd Street will be kept intact, but slightly shifted west, to make room for the new floodwall.

Nathan Boerboom/Division Engineer, City of Fargo: “Thats the new location of the floodwall and the location of 2nd Street so it kind of gives everybody a picture of what the project will look like once it's completed. It's a lot easier to see it in that rendering than just on a piece of paper.”

The orange in the flyover, currently used for city hall parking, highlights what engineers say could be a potential development area.
