Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Here is a little Holiday Cheer challenge. A local charity trying to help those in need is trying to raise $40,000 in 40 days.
HERO in Southwest Fargo collects and redistributes donated healthcare supplies.
People on limited income who need a wheelchair, crutches, hospital beds, lift chairs and more can get assistance from the local nonprofit.
And now for the next 40-days, M-J Capelli Salons is challenging the Fargo Moorhead area to raise $20,000 for HERO, and that will be matched with another $20,000 from the Capelli salons.
The money raised will help the charity waves fees to area families in need----which is expected to reach well over 3,000 this year.
Margo/Hero, Fargo: “it tells you there is a need in the community and we are bringing in more supplies which is a great feeling.”
Last year, HERO distributed thousands of pounds of medical supplies to more than 3,000 individuals locally. Up a thousand from the previous year.
