Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - We begin tonight with the 4th fire in the last four days, in the Metro.
Tuesday, fire and smoke has heavily damaged a Moorhead apartment complex.
The fire was called in about 7 p.m. Tuesday, at Ridgewood Court, in the 13-hundred block of 34th Street South in Moorhead.
Firefighters say smoke was billowing from the front door when they arrived.
No one was inside the first floor apartment.
Authorities don't know if it's related - but police did respond to an "incident" at this apartment, earlier in the day.
Greg Doeden/Moorhead Asst. Fire Chief: “We showed up on scene, quite a bit of smoke showing out of the front door. Crews from the south station got in, got a quick hit on it, got a knock down on it. It appears the damage is going to be contained to just the one unit.”
There is heavy smoke damage to the one apartment, and minor smoke damage to neighboring apartments.
A damage estimate is not available tonight.
