Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Bison fans thought it was as cold as it gets this morning during tailgating, but that was until they received the chilling news Saturday night that Head Coach Craig Bohl is on his way out.

CBS Sports Writer Bruce Feldman broke the story around 8:30 Saturday and the Casper Star-Tribune confirmed it, that Bohl is leaving to be the next head coach at the University of Wyoming.

Wyoming has scheduled a press conference Sunday at 5 o'clock central time; we've confirmed NDSU is having a team meeting at 9 am Sunday.

Bohl is in the middle of his 11th season, trying to lead the school to its 3rd consecutive national championship.

While, some may view this as a lateral move, there's speculation that Wyoming is leaving the Mountain West conference for the Big Twelve, which would explain a lot.

Here's some reaction from NDSU players tonight on Twitter.

Quarterback Brock Jensen first tweeted, “Please say this is a joke.”

He later added, “Really happy for Coach, love that man with all my heart. Sad it had to get leaked like this, doubt he wanted it to happen like it is.”

Wide Receiver Nate Moody tweeted, “this is a little weird.”

And defensive lineman Leevon Perry, tweeted “the guys on the field are the guys I put blood, sweat and tears into every game. For the rest of the season nothing will change that, hashtag Bison Nation.”
