Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Between 5 and 6,000 regional crop producers passed through the turnstiles for the Northern Ag Expo at the FargoDome.

The two-day event wrapped up Monday, and featured more than 250 companies.

A few topics dominating discussion included the management of soil salinity, weeds and price marketing.

But the main focus of the event... was the advancement of technologies used in machinery.

Gary Knutson- Executive Director of ND Agricultural Association: "You know, they say the next 50 bushels of corn on that average yield is probably going to come from this precision ag from this technology as opposed to new traits being bred into the crops."

The expo has always taken place in December as it's generally the time when farmers make decisions concerning production for the rest of the year.
