Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Tonight, the Fargo planning commission has approved blue prints to move forward with the development of 52nd Avenue.
Christianson's First Addition is looking to grow 148 acres near the avenue.
Of that acreage, Christianson wants to commercialize 60 acres.
Which includes property near Meadow Creek.
Neighbors there aren't thrilled about the idea.
Rob Strand/Opposes Plan: "Headlights and noise and the type of activities that may take place on those if there's not conditional overlay to prohibit a drive through restaurant, gasoline stations and convenient stores. There's going to be a lot of traffic."
Kevin Christianson/Approves of Plan: "I'm glad where we've got to. We've got a great product for the whole area. We've given up a lot to the east to work with the neighbors. And I think we've created an adequate buffer that makes sense.”
The proposal now goes to the city commission for final approval.
