Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - For many families, the holidays wouldn't be the same without a holiday meal.

But those who can't afford all the trimmings are getting a little help.

Tuesday, volunteers from AT&T filled "bountiful holiday baskets" with potatoes, ham, and even a turkey.

The company teamed up with the Great Plains Food Bank to provide holiday meals to more than 500 needy families.

The project was funded by a $500,000 donation from AT&T.

Dee Henderson/AT&T Retail Sales Manager: "To the seniors, to the children, to the needy families that it supports, it makes their holidays brighter and relieves some of the stress of having to come up with all that they need around the holiday season."

The project coincided with "Giving Tuesday," which encourages businesses and individuals to donate to their favorite non-profits.
