Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A lifesaving transplant awaits a Fargo man this weekend of Thanksgiving.
50-year-old Kenton Cargile is battling multiple myeloma, which is a cancer of the bone marrow.
After weeks of chemotherapy at the V-A here in Fargo, he leaves in a few days for the State of Washington, where he will begin a three month process of a bone marrow transplant.
Cargile says he wants to remind people about the importance of getting yearly physicals.
He felt perfectly fine and had no symptoms, but the cancer showed up in blood-work during a check-up.
Kenton Cargile/Battling Multiple Myeloma: “I may have to have another transplant but at this point we are looking at it working in Seattle and going into remission so.”
