Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Fargo City Commissioners last night approved a change in curbside garbage and recycling routes.
It means 60 to 65% of residents will have their garbage picked up on a different day.
The change of garbage and recycling routes in Fargo came about due to substantial growth in South Fargo.
Terry Ludlum/Fargo Solid Waste Utility Director: "That was creating such a big impact for us on all of our Friday routes and what was going to be proposed as our Thursday routes."
The new garbage routes run as followed:
On Monday, garbage routes will run North of 7th Avenue North.
Tuesday, they run between 7th Avenue North and Interstate 94.
Wednesday, between I-94 and 40th Avenue South.
Thursday, South of 40th Avenue South and east of Interstate 29.
And Friday, south of 40th Avenue South and west of Interstate 94.
Recycling too, has been rerouted by the week your home falls on the route as designated by the A and B on the map.
If you want a better look at the routes, you can find them online at the city and solid waste websites. And if you're not web savvy, there will be a letter in the mail next week.
There is time to adjust.
The new routes won't go into effect until January 6th.
