Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The FCS Playoff field is set, but plenty of familiar faces were left off the bracket, leaving for some hard feelings.

NDSU received the top overall seed and home field advantage throughout the playoffs, and SDSU got an at-large bid; but that was it out of the Missouri Valley, recognized as the top conference all season.

But both Youngstown and Northern Iowa with solid resumes were left out of the postseason party.

Craig Bohl- 10-1 Playoff Record: “We're disappointed with the representation of the Missouri Valley conference; a conference that has the number of teams in it. We certainly would have hoped that we would have had at least 3 or 4 teams. I think that week in and week out competition deserves that; however, the selection committee felt otherwise. I think we beat each other up. I know a lot of coaches have made a big push for round robin play. Throw that out! I think it's disappointing that we couldn't get more teams in.”

The Valley got 3 teams into the playoffs last season. The Big Sky got 4 teams into the bracket... NDSU will play the winner of South Carolina State and Furman next Saturday.

The final coaches poll of the regular season sees NDSU on top, Youngstown State who missed the final 24, finishes ranked 19th. 5 Big Sky teams in top 25.
