Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - It's far from your ordinary slow Sunday, the Vikings and Packers game was as close as it gets, the FCS playoff bracket is released.

But, all of that takes a back seat to the most highly anticipated NDSU-UND men's basketball game in a long time.

A sellout crowd of 3,142 packed the Betty.

The Bison preseason favorites to win the Summit League, visiting UND, ranked 2nd in the Big Sky preseason poll.

UND opens on an 8-2 run, NDSU's Lawrence Alexander inbounds it to the wrong color, UND's Jaron Nash heads the other way for the slam-dunk.. The Betty was rocking.

But back come the Bison, down low to Marshall Bjorklund for the hoop and the hack, He finished with 11.

Troy Huff coming off that 37-point night against Wisconsin, continued his terrific play, he drains the corner trey for three of his 32.

UND led it by nine at the break.

The Bison look to Taylor Braun in the second half, He spins and scores a pair of his game-high 34 points.

24 of those coming after halftime.

But with every NDSU bucket, UND had an answer.

Jamal Webb lobs it up for Nash and the Texas Tech transfer adds the exclamation point,

UND runs away with it, 95-77.

95 is the most points allowed by NDSU since 2004, when the Bison gave up 105 at South Dakota. Here's Dan Corey with more from Grand Forks.

Jody, it was a game that saw 57 fouls between the two teams. UND went to the line 41 times, making 33 of those and that made the difference in the ballgame.

Aaron Anderson/18 pts (10-12 FT): “I think that goes with the new rules. Hand checks and the blocking and all that. I feel like the rules are helping us because of our style of offense. It was a different game this year.”

Saul Phillips/2-2 all-time vs UND: “We ended up fouling out four starters. That will take your game plan, rip it to shreds and throw it up like confetti.”

Marshall Bjorklund/11 pts, 3 reb (Fouled Out): “To be honest with you it's kind of embarrassing that we came in unprepared. We got punched in the mouth and they played really well.”

Anderson: “We came out with a bang. All 7 seniors can say that. It was just great and having the home crowd come out to the game...we enjoyed it.”

Another state UND can point to for the win? Their bench, as they outscored the Bison 27 to 11.
