Amidon, SD (WDAY TV) - Weeks after a snowstorm devastated much of South Dakota, ranchers are set to receive a little love, from their neighbors to the north.

Amidon is a tiny town, with only a couple dozen residents.

But it's known for its farming and ranching.

That's why more than 200-people in the surrounding area, have joined together to donate caring baskets to ranchers.

Individuals and businesses have donated what they can.

Four boxes each will be hand-delivered to 55 ranchers in South Dakota.

From frozen turkeys to homemade pies, each box has a different theme and assortment of goodies.

One box has the theme of love, and is filled with cupcakes, cookies.

But it's the message inside - that might be the most sweet.

Harold Narum/Volunteer: "We're happy to do it for those that are less fortunate then we have been."

Linda Narum/Volunteer: "At the end of the day, the contents are beautiful, the contents are sent with love, but the most important thing is probably expressed in the Thanksgiving card, may this give you some gentle moments and moments of peace, this Thanksgiving holiday."

Volunteers will deliver the care packages tomorrow.
