Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Land and mineral rights owners got a crash course in how to manage those assets in Fargo today.
About three hundred people attended the second annual Great Plains Land Expo.
It's set up as a one-day university, to help people learn how to manage their land and mineral rights.
Organizers say much of the interest comes from people who own property in oil-rich areas out west.
Kevin Pifer/Pifer’s Auction & Realty President: "Most of the minerals in North Dakota are either owned by individuals or a group of individuals and they've been severed off over the years. So, there's been an enormous amount of interest in people that own these, how do they approach the practice of managing these assets?"
The expo featured speakers on topics ranging from farmland economics to climate change.
