Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The Class A state volleyball tournament appears to be fairly wide open this year. Shanley's the top seed from the East, but the 24-and-8 Davies Eagles have the talent to take home a title.

They finished a disappointing seventh last year, but with 5 seniors--the most of any team from the East--they expect a much stronger showing this time around.

Kinsey Papachek/Davies Sr. Outside Hitter: “It definitely drives us more, especially being a senior I'm ready to end on a good note so I think we are all ready to improve on our last year’s performance and show everyone that we are better than that.”

Katelyn Olson/Davies Sr. Setter: “I think that everyone is really hungry to get a state title, I think that we have gotten better every single game this year and we are continuing and we want to continue to get better.”

Davies matches up with Century Thursday night at 8 in Minot.
