Northern Cass has first game at state volleyball on Thursday

Hunter, ND (WDAY TV) - It's been a remarkable season for the Northern Cass volleyball team. The Jaguars are going to state for the first time in school history. They have 30 wins and just 4 losses, after beating rival Central Cass in the region one final, a team that'd handed them 3 of their 4 losses this season. So Northern Cass heads to state with a boatload of confidence, and the top seed in the entire tournament.

Bree Olson/Northern Cass Sr. Setter: “It's awesome! We've never been the number one seed in districts or regionals, so it's awesome. We wanna show everyone we were meant to be here.”

Tom Klapp/Northern Cass Head Coach: “It's gonna be a little different for them. They're used to being the underdog, now they've got a target on 'em. They're gonna have to adapt to that a bit but they're going there to win for sure.”

Cassie Hilde/Northern Cass Sr. Middle: “It's really important because we all wanted to do something our senior year that none of the seniors had done. And it was just great that we finally got to state.”

The top seeded Jaguars play Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood Thursday at 6 o'clock in Minot.
