Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - More than 400 homes gone: That's the level of disaster in Washington, Illinois, alone from Sunday's Tornado.

The estimated EF-4 Tornado, with peak winds hitting north of 170 miles per hour, ravaged towns in Illinois and Indiana. The American Red Cross says four shelters are in place with more than 100 volunteers on the ground.

Five emergency response vehicles are being used as mobile feeding stations.

Brian Shawn- Regional Comm. Officer, American Red Cross: β€œThe response right now is pretty good by the Chicago Red Cross and other neighboring Red Cross chapters, but where they might need the help of some people from our region or neighboring regions would be the recovery process, which is going to be several months.”
