Minneapolis, MN (WDAY TV) - The Minnesota Vikings opened the year, tying the worst start in franchise history.

But, believe it or not a win today would get them within 3 games of the division lead.

Visiting Seattle, where they're 2-5 all-time catching up with an old friend Percy Harvin, who was making his Seahawks debut.

Tied at 3 in the first, Vikings defense played well early.

Brian Robison tracks down Russel Wilson, for his 3rd sack of the season.

But, the Seahawks get on the board at the end of the quarter, Marshawn Lynch busts through.

His first of 3 scores makes it 10-3 Seattle.

The Vikings have a quick answer in the second though.

Christian Ponder on the boot leg goes deep to Jarius Wright.

He hauls it in for a 38 yard touchdown to tie things up.

But after another Lynch TD and a Vikings Field Goal, Harvin reminds Vikings fans of better days.

He returns this kickoff 58 yards, that sets up another Seattle touchdown before the half to make it 24-13.

Things just got worse from there.

Trailing 31-13 in the 4th,

Ponder throws it right to Walter Thurmond, who turns it into 6 points. and the search for the next Viking QB is on,

It might even be one of these guys.

Matt Cassel came in, in relief and threw a TD to Wright, but it didn't matter.

Seattle trounces Minnesota 41-20, Tavaris Jackson even came in and led the Seahawks on a scoring drive.

Talk about Salt in the Wounds for the purple.

Adrian Peterson/65 Rushing Yards: “Turnovers will definitely stop you in your tracks. Even more so than that the second half coming out the defense did a great job to get us the ball back and two drives in a row we was three and out.”
