Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The NDSU football team hasn't had to face a whole lot of adversity in their run to back-to-back national championships.

But, today would be a test in Youngstown, with their defensive leader Grant Olson sidelined for the year and Marcus Williams out too.

Both teams with plenty on the line, NDSU could lock up a 3rd straight Missouri Valley title and a playoff spot,

Youngstown needing to finish with 2 straight wins to steal the conference crown.

YSU opens up a 7-0 lead, but comes NDSU as Brock Jensen hits Andrew Bonnett, he bounces off a defender and scores from 3 yards out, 7-7 game

Same score in the 2nd quarter, Bison cap off an 87 yard drive as Jensen hits Ryan Smith on a 10 yd TD pass, 14-7 Bison.

NDSU tries to extend the lead late in the half as Sam Ojuri breaks off a huge 55 yard run and the Bison were in business.

But later in the drive, Jensen is picked off by Dale Peterman; Penguins get a field goal out of it, 14-10 NDSU at the break

Jensen passes Steve Walker for most TD passes in a season and a career.

62 in his career and 24 on the season.

NDSU beats Youngstown 35-17 and clinches 3rd straight Missouri Valley title; 19th straight win; 17th straight road win now 10-0

Craig Bohl/3rd Straight MVFC Title: “Our players recognize how tough this league is, so for us to be able to accomplish it on the road and win it outright is really a nice thing.”
