Becker County, MN (WDAY TV) - Social workers in Becker County are looking for more area families to open up their homes as adoptive or foster parents.

76 children are in child protection and 25 of those are up for adoption.

Human Services workers say that is a high number for the county, but there are no adoptive families currently available.

They say they are especially looking for Native American families, but anyone with a loving home can help.

Jenny Anderson/Social Worker: "There are so many different families that can contribute to taking kids in, age range is open, single parents, two-parent households, parenting experience or not, just whoever can help out and has a big heart to help these children."

November is National Adoption Awareness Month.
