Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - The WDAZ T-V reporter attacked on the Spirit Lake Reservation, says he was just doing his job.

Adam Ladwig started shooting a garage fire, when two women approached, started yelling obscenities, and grabbing at the camera.

Two men later joined in, and threatened to get a hammer and beat the camera.

Later, Ladwig says a B-I-A officer told him to destroy the video he shot.

Ladwig thinks the media gets a bad rap on the reservation, because of some of the controversial stories they've covered recently.

Adam Ladwig/WDAZ Reporter: "There is a phrase in journalism that you want to report the new; you don't want to be the news. So I'm the story right now. And I don't want to be."

Ladwig say he still feels welcome by a majority of people on the Spirit Lake Reservation.
