Denver, CO (WDAY TV) - Imagine your life changing in an instant, the result of a freak accident.
On an ATV, with a helmet and seat-belt. Then suddenly, a few seconds that are a life game changer for you.
That is what lay ahead for Fargo's Jason Larkin, as he continues his recovery and rehab, at Craig Hospital in Denver, Colorado.
One thing is for certain.
Anybody who spends anytime at a Spinal-Head Injury Rehab Center leaves thankful and impressed with the care and perseverance of the patients there.
In the heart of the Rockies, you will find an amazing place, where patients come broken, but leave whole.
We found Jason Larkin of Fargo, in yet another of his exhausting, mentally challenging physical therapy sessions.
The ATV accident left him with no feeling in his legs and arms. He does have use of his shoulders and biceps.
The father of three has spent the last few weeks at Craig in intense occupational and physical therapy.
Day long sessions, that leave him spent.
His wife and kids, mother and brother, Ryan always by his side.
His Team Larkin Cheer group back home in Fargo numbers in the hundreds.
Family and friends that have organized benefits come to see him and helped his wife and kids get through this difficult time.
Jason Larkin/Patient at Craig Hospital: “I tell you, if I didn't have that, they give me so much support, always there them being at therapy to motivate and stay positive and work at it I have seen people who don’t have anybody and I could not imagine it.”
