Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Big rivals are setting their school colors aside to team up in the classroom.
Fargo South seniors are turning teacher for the day, showing Davies students a few car care tips.
Welcome, When Davies and South High students show up to battle.
Parker Mayer/South High Senior: "I'd say there's a pretty big rivalry between the schools."
It's usually not to talk trucks.
Austin Larson/Davies Senior: "We want to beat them, they want to beat us."
But rather, competition.
Ashleigh Abner/South High Senior: "Only when it comes to football and that's about it."
Larson: "My guess would be hockey because that can get pretty brutal."
Today's a little different.
Larson: "It's like they're kind of crossing over on our territory."
The Eagles and the Bruins are teaming back up in the auto shop.
Abner: "Everyone is trying to be the best; I mean we all went to school together so we all played on the same teams."
It doesn't matter which side you're on, all it takes is a broken belt to really level the playing field.
Mayer: "One thing that everyone needs to learn how to do."
South students are walking through checking the oil, how to find the spare, and knowing indicator lights.
Larson: "It's kind of weird having a student teach a student."
But in the class or intense competition, they have one thing in common.
Larson: "We don't hate each other."
They always leave it all on the field.
Larson: "Yeah I’d say I really learned a lot."
It's the second year for the collaborative auto class between Davies and South High seniors.
