Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - For the first time in four years the Bison will play a game on Saturday without Grant Olson, the starting middle linebacker tore his ACL on Saturday, ending his season and his career with NDSU.

Tuesday he spoke for the first time and I asked him if he knew the injury was serious and how he plans on being a factor during the stretch run.

Grant Olson/Tore ACL Saturday: “I knew right away that it was something pretty serious. It's kind of one of those things that when you know your own body and something goes wrong, you can kind of tell. I was kind of holding out hope that whatever the pain was that it would go away, but when it didn't I figured out it wasn't good. My role is going to be different now than what it was before. But, it's all about whatever I can do to help the team win. That's my job and that's my responsibility, so I need to do that.”

Olson said he's holding off on surgery, he will be on the sideline Saturday when NDSU takes its 16 game road winning streak to Youngstown.
