Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Workers at Fargo's Hector International Airport held a moment of silence Friday, in honor of a TSA worker.

TSA officers at the airport asked travelers to join them in honoring Gerardo Hernandez, who was killed in last Friday's shooting at the Los Angeles airport.

Hernandez was the first TSA officer to be killed in the line of duty.

At around 11:20 this morning, the exact moment when Hernandez lost his life, hundreds of American airports paused to recognize his sacrifice.

Kathy Kram/Langdon, ND Traveler: "We never know what's going to happen. It's just unfortunate that those things do happen no matter where we're at."

A public memorial service for Hernandez will be held next week in Los Angeles.
