Governor Dayton to kick off deer hunt in Fergus Falls

FERGUS FALLS, MN (WDAY TV) - The official kick-off of Minnesota deer hunting season brought the Governor to Fergus Falls.

FERGUS FALLS, MN (WDAY TV) - The official kick-off of Minnesota deer hunting season brought the Governor to Fergus Falls.

Governor Mark Dayton visited Fergus Falls for the 11th annual Governor's Deer Opener today.

It was just his second appearance since a hip procedure two weeks ago.

The event included field day activities like a trick shooting exhibition.

Gov. Mark Dayton/(D) Minnesota: "We have excellent bipartisan support in the Minnesota legislature for our hunting and outdoor recreation and tourism activities and we very much appreciate that."

Next year's deer opener will be held in Bemidji.
