FARGO, ND (WDAY TV) - A surprise caller as the Jay Thomas show tackled a controversial topic. The attempt by white supremacist Craig Cobb to create a white supremacist enclave in Leith. North Dakota.
Just 20 minutes into the show - Cobb called in.
What makes this all the more interesting is that Jay's original guest was Kade Farris with Unite North Dakota - an organization helping Leith fight off the white supremacists.
It's been an on-going battle for the past year as Cobb has been buying property in Leith in hopes white supremacists will come to live there.
The phone lines were filled this afternoon as callers asked Cobb questions such as - Do you think America should be all white? Should North Dakota be afraid of white supremacy? What is your ultimate goal? Why does he think his race is more superior?
Cobb seemed to talk in circles as he responded to many of the questions - often avoiding the "direct" question, instead answering with propaganda.
One hot button issue involved the Holocaust - something Cobb says he doesn't believe happened.
"Was Hitler a good man? You know what if he would have won there would be a lot of good looking Norwegians and Germans walking around the Wal-Mart’s instead of these horrific looking land manatees."
The talk show had a wide-spread reach - as white supremacy supporters were calling in from across the nation, including one man who went so far as to call Jay stupid for not believing that white rights are dying.
