Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Clay County Public health held it’s first of three flu shot clinics Wednesday.
The vaccinations are through injection only-- and the public can obtain a shot for $40 dollars at the clinic.
Despite popular myth, organizers say you cannot actually become sick from a flu shot.
Cheryl Sapp/Clay County Health Clinic Coordinator: "Every fall we have a number of different viruses that are floating in the air and it's very easy that you could be exposed prior to getting your flu shots, so, if you were exposed to something earlier this week and you came in and go your flu shot, today you still could get some sickness from it, but it definitely is not from the flu shot.”
If you still need you flu shot, the details for the next two clinics are now on your screen.
The shot are open to people age nine and older.
If you wish to vaccinate a child under the age of nine-- you can schedule a special appointment with the clinic.
