Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - It's also state tournament time for volleyball and the Moorhead Spuds are back in the final eight for the first time since 2010.

Char Lien's squad is loaded with experience, they have 9 seniors, but just one played on the last Moorhead team that went to state, Maddie Swanson and now they get set to play the top ranked team in Eagan on Thursday.

Maddie Swanson/Moorhead Sr. Outside Hitter: “We have to be ready for the big cities teams. It's a lot different competition than it is around here. We need to just expect everything and enjoy everything.”

Cece Borgen/Moorhead Sr. Libero:“We want to make some noise for sure. We are so excited to go to state. With how equal the 15 of us are, I think we'll have a good chance. “

Char Lien/Moorhead Volleyball Coach: “For us, it's not about going down there, playing and if we lose it's no big deal. We want to play well and we know that we're going to have to play well in order to win some games. These teams are going to be bringing their best attack too.”
