Election Day in Moorhead

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - It is Election Day in Minnesota and the city of Moorhead will have a new mayor when the polls close Tuesday evening.

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - It is Election Day in Minnesota and the city of Moorhead will have a new mayor when the polls close this evening.

It will be just the 3rd time in 34 years the city has a new mayor.

Those working the polls here say people have been coming and going steady throughout the day.

So just who is all running for the mayoral seat?

The candidates include Mike Hulett, Mark Hintermeyer, Del Rae Williams and Kevin Shores.

In case you haven't gotten out to vote, here's some background information on the candidates.

Hulett may already be a familiar face - currently serving on the city council.

Hintermeyer, a retired air force officer, has served on the city council for 8 years.

Williams is a former CPA who served on the Moorhead Human Rights Commission for 6 years.

And finally - Shores is a gulf war veteran who's campaigning for mayor for a third time since 2001.
