Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - If you think the Vikings have reached an all time low this season, you're right.

After today's loss in Dallas the team is 1 and 7.

The worst start in franchise history since their inaugural season back in 1961.

Christian Ponder is getting the nod under center for a second straight week.

Ponder played his best game of the year and had the Vikings in front 10-6 at the half, but Dallas scores two touchdowns in 10 seconds early in the third.

George Selvie strips Ponder in the endzone and Nick Hayden falls on it for a touchdown.

Just like that the Cowboys have a 20-10 lead.

Minnesota responds on its next drive.

Ponder hits Kyle Rudolph down the middle.

The Pro Bowl MVP muscles his way in from 31 yards out.

Rudolph would leave the game on that play though with a foot injury.

Vikings within 3, 20-17.

Same score in the 4th.

The MVP giving his home state a show.

Adrian Peterson carrying defenders into the end zone, but Blair Walsh misses the extra point, so it's just a 3-point lead.

And that would be huge.

Tony Romo leads a scoring drive late.

Romo connects with Dwayne Harris with :35 seconds to play.

Cowboys lead 27-23.

So instead of needing a field goal, the Vikings need a touchdown.

Ponder with one last chance,

He can't make it to the endzone on the Hail Mary attempt.

And Minnesota loses for a fourth straight week.

27-23, Peterson's 40th career 100 yard rushing game goes to waste, and the injuries continue to pile up for Minnesota, with 3 starters leaving with injuries.

: “”There's still a lot of time and this is the NFL. We didn't run much time on offense and then we didn't stop them on defense. You have to finish the game.

We need to make those open field tackles. Those are plays that we need to make. We can't have 5 yard catches become big plays.”
