Cavalier, ND (WDAY TV) - Sunday the wife of a Christian pastor currently imprisoned in Iran spoke at several churches in Cavalier.
People packed the Assembly of God church in Cavalier today, to worship with and listen to Nagmeh Ademini.
“She kind of became the voice of the persecuted church to me. Could put a face and a name - her and her husband.”
Nagmeh's husband, Saeed has been imprisoned in Iran since last summer.
Supporters of Saeed say he has been imprisoned because of his Christian beliefs - An 8 year sentence that has impacted both Nagmeh and her children.
Nagmeh Ademini/Wife of Imprisoned Pastor: “It's hard to see them in so much pain and here's their dad, an American citizen who's imprisoned in Iran just because he believes differently.”
Ademini: “My daughter's had birthdays without him, 2 birthdays now and the last birthday she said mom, how many more birthdays and I was in tears, I didn't know what to tell her.”
Prior to speaking today. Nagmeh received breaking news regarding her husband
Ademini: “I woke with a phone call, talking to Saeed's family in Iran and hearing the news that he's been moved”
Nagmeh and her family left to guess as to her husband's whereabouts with the Iranian government not saying anything.
Ademini: “I'm right now in an unknown state of where is my husband. Is he alive? What has happened to him?”
A situation that is heartbreaking and frustrating.
Ademini: “They've said they want to work with the U.S. They want to work with Europe, they want to work with the west. And what just happened shows otherwise.”
Actions are louder than promises
Nagmeh hopes to learn more tomorrow about Saeeds whereabouts.
