FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A push to allow the sale of alcoholic beverages in the Fargodome during North Dakota State University football games has apparently fizzled.

A few NDSU senators had suggested the possibility of regulating alcohol sales during games, arguing that could reduce binge-drinking before games.

But the Forum reports that the idea seems to lack support from university officials, and even the students who brought up the issue are reconsidering its merit.

The current five-year contract between the university and the Fargodome Authority does not allow alcohol sales inside the facility during school events. And Athletic Director Gene Taylor says the alcohol policy for NDSU events inside the Fargodome is not going to change any time soon.

Robbie Lauf, student body president, says the student government supports the current policy.
