THOMPSON, N.D. (AP) — Residents in the eastern North Dakota community of Thompson will decide next month if they want a $4.5 million school expansion.

Officials say more space is needed to handle a growing enrollment at the K-12 school.

The Grand Forks Herald reports that approval of at least 60 percent of voters is needed on Nov. 26 to raise property taxes to pay for most of the project. The owner of a home valued at $100,000 would pay an additional $135 in taxes next year.
