Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Friday night may be the main event at the Dome as Barnesville and Hawley square off in the 8 AA final.

Last year’s championship game was a battle of unbeatens with Hawley edging Barnesville that had a controversial ending.

Michael Strand- Barnesville Sr. RB-DB: “I remember that last play, where we came up short and we thought we had it, but stuff happens like that.”

Philip Teeples- Hawley Sr. TE-LB: “We came out with the win. I'm sure luck was on our side.”

Last year's four-point win by the Nuggets left the two sidelines feeling very differently, Hawley elated for the win and to be going to state; Barnesville just waiting for revenge.

Kyler Martz- Barnesville Sr. QB-DB: “I think we have been wanting to get back to this point since we lost to Hawley last year in the section championship. That's been the driving force between this whole season, getting back to this game and getting to play Hawley again.”

Both teams feel the hype for this matchup is deserved, and both expect another thriller.

Strand: “If you’re not there, you are crazy.”

Chris Buttke- Hawley Sr. RB-LB: “I believe that it's going to be a very physical game and very close. I just feel it's going to be a head-to-head match the whole time and coming down to those final seconds, it's that final play that is really going to matter.”

They both know what's on the line.

Teeples: “If we lose, we are done.”

That's the nightcap Friday night at the Dome. Couple of good games before that, OTC takes on Holdingford, and Underwood clashes with Verndale in 9-man.
