Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - A familiar face in the Moorhead Public School system is stepping down.

Assistant Superintendent Wayne Kazmierczak is moving to the Twin Cities suburb of White Bear Lake.

He will take the position of Director of Finance and Operations within that school system.

Kazmierczak said he has thoroughly enjoyed his six years in Moorhead, and thinks he has improved the system.

Wayne A. Kazmierczak- Moorhead Schools Assistant Superintendent: “It’s hard to reflect and maybe admit that we've done some good things sometimes, but I think I did. I think I’ve had a positive impact here and, you know, maybe that's what we hope for. I think that’s what we hope for when we work in a field like education. We hope to make a difference in the lives of students and I think I can say that going forward when I look back at my time in Moorhead, I believe I did that.”

Kazmierczak's resignation will be acted upon at Monday night’s school board meeting.

His last day is January 14th.
