MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A North Dakota man accused of driving over and killing a woman while helping to start her car says he will plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

Authorities say Joshua Demery, of Rugby, was under the influence of liquor and drugs when the incident happened on Oct. 12, 2012, in Belcourt.

Leah Nadeau was struck and killed while she was standing in front of the car.

The charge carries a maximum penalty of eight years in prison. A plea hearing has not been scheduled.
