Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - An annual mission to Haiti out of Fargo-Moorhead will bring twice the amount of medical supplies they brought last year.

Today, HERO filled a semi-truck with more than 16,000 pounds of supplies for the F-M Haiti Medical Mission team to bring to Pignon, Haiti.

The supplies are worth about $200,000.

Since the earthquake in 2010, the population and healthcare needs in that area have skyrocketed.

Margot Brenna- HERO Communications Director: "Some of the supplies they're getting is just basic wound-care supplies and then surgical items. So, suction, airway supplies, surgical drapes, anything that might help the doctors perform surgeries while they're in Haiti."

The supplies will equip the local hospital for the next year.
