Grand Forks, ND - A Grand Forks church has been added to the list of places where an exposure to hepatitis A occurred, according to the North Dakota Department of Health on Friday.

People who attended the 10:30 a.m. mass at St. Michael's Catholic Church are being encouraged to consult their health care provider if they develop symptoms of the virus, which include fever, nausea and abdominal discomfort.

The virus can be spread when people don't wash their hands thoroughly after using the toilet or changing a diaper or soiled sheets, according to the health department.
