Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Far from any hospital auditorium or hotel ballroom, breast cancer survivors gathered in the country today, for a retreat.
"Embrace," which is Sanford Health's Cancer Survivorship Program, hosted more than a hundred women all day at Rustic Oaks in South Moorhead.
They called it, a "journey to healing and recovery" after breast cancer.
Physicians, survivors, social workers, genetic counselors and more, talked with the women about what is new in the battle against breast cancer, and what programs and support are out there following treatment.
Dr. Shelby Terstriep, Sanford Oncologist: “I think we're in a tie we'll see remarkable advances in the next 10 years that's going to redefine every cancer. That's because of genomic medicine, and that's going to be awesome.”
At this hour, the women are at the Hotel Donaldson, as part of the celebration leading up to Bras on Broadway tomorrow night.
